New Hub Break-in

Top100 Boat

Rubber hubs need to set for 24 hours after being pressed. After that, a 10-15 minute break-in procedure needs to be followed. To do this you simply need to idle around in gear shifting gears several times from forward to neutral to reverse then back to forward. When you go to go on pad for the first time, ease the boat on pad. After the initial run, everything should be seated. If the prop is correct, you shouldn't have another problem.

There is usually a reason for a hub going out that relates to the prop. This needs to be addressed at the same time as the hub is replaced; otherwise the hub will go out again for the same reason.

I personally will not replace the hub in a damaged prop unless the prop is to be fixed at the same time.

This break-in does not apply to self installed hub inserts from hub kits.
